Relationships in Real Estate | Referrals, Trusted Partners & How Connection Drives Closings
Hey friend đź‘‹
Let’s talk about something that has shaped my business more than any marketing strategy ever could:
Relationships.
Because here’s the truth…
Real estate isn’t really a house business.
It’s a people business.
🏡 Here's the truth:
This episode wraps up my final transaction of 2019...
And it wasn’t even a transaction I personally closed.
It was a referral.
A military spouse needed help buying her first home in Greenville, South Carolina, and I knew exactly who to call.
Not because I found a Realtor online.
But because I had spent years building a relationship with someone I trusted completely.
đźš© The real challenge?
Finding the right person.
Not just someone with a license.
Someone who:
→ Puts people first
→ Leads with integrity
→ Communicates well
→ Treats clients the way I would want them treated
That’s what matters.
đź’ˇ What this means for you:
A good referral isn't random.
It’s matchmaking.
When someone asks me for:
→ A Realtor
→ A lender
→ A contractor
I’m not just giving names.
I’m thinking about personalities, communication styles, strengths, and what will serve that person best.
💰Now let’s talk about the part most people don’t realize…
Referrals are one of the biggest ways you can support a small business.
When you introduce someone to a trusted professional, you’re helping both sides:
→ The person who needs help
→ The business owner you trust
Everybody wins.
📊 One of the most practical takeaways from this episode:
The best professionals build networks before they need them.
The reason I was able to confidently make that connection was because years of conversations, conferences, calls, and relationship-building had already happened.
⚖️ A better way to frame your role:
Instead of asking:
"Who can do the job?"
Ask:
"Who is the best fit?"
That small shift can completely change someone's experience.
🎯 Real talk:
The longer I’m in this business, the more convinced I become that relationships are everything.
The right connection can:
→ Reduce stress
→ Build trust
→ Create better outcomes
→ Change someone's entire experience
And that's why I care so much about who I recommend.
